I think most folks either, depend on the organics in the soil, or they use a granular (time release) like Osmocote. |

Not really, cuz that would require mandatory visits. Those continuous use ferts are fer indoor, where you got ready access to plants. Until recent years, most outdoor has bin stealth, so limited visits is necessary. Folks might scratch in some guano at the appearance of bud sets, but that's aboot it. That bein the history, you are pretty much able to try anythin ya want...provided ya got ready access. Legal folks are now tryin stuff like hydro outdoors.

On the soil... Stay away from MG products & soils with bark/wood chips. MG products have a tendency to burn yer plants, and MJ don't like bark/wood chips in it's soil. I would use a non-ferted, peat-based potting soil. Then either mix a good organic soil up (addin worm poop, blood & bone meals, etc.), or water the nutes in like an indoor grow. |

I would go with a Sun#4 or a PRomix type of mix and dirt a nice area as your bed that is about 12-16inches deep if possible.. and then also depending on budget fill said spot with a mix such described by Bob above PLUS and organic Soil ... very good advice imo... i dont know too much about outdoor feeding from that point forward... but i would listen too bob's suggestions |
