![]() The UC has the highest initial equipment and electrical operating cost, but requires the least amount of attention since it is automated with the topoff res, and a complete res change only takes 30 min. Also, complete res changes are fewer at every two or three weeks and the system uses very little nutes. The Coco DTW has the second highest initial equipment and electrical operating costs. It is automated, but still requires attention to ensure there are no clogged drip lines. You also have to adjust the watering frequency and duration based on the stage of plant growth/bloom. Complete res changes are also necessary every one to two weeks and they take about an hour due to the location of the res in the tub. This system requires more medium and a stronger nutrient mix than the UC. Soil costs the least in initial equipment and electrical operating costs, but since it is hand watered roughly every 3 to 4 days it requires more attention. Also, the amount of medium and nutrient strength is very similar to that of the Coco setup. ![]() A Shady Update... Roots Organic R14 and Under Current R15 Here's a quick update on Rounds 14 and 15. The girls in the Under Current are starting to takeoff. I dialed the Quantum ballast to 750W and topped the four smallest cuts for the first time today. I will set the lower screen soon and fill it up for the flip in a couple weeks... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Roots Organic girls were hit with HammerHead earlier this week for the first time. Here they are today on Day 21 of bloom... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thx eyezlow! The relative humidity has been too low for the first few weeks of veg, otherwise the roots would be much more developed... Quote:
![]() A Shady Update... Roots Organic R14 and Under Current R15 Another quick update on both rounds... First up are the details on the UC in veg. I topped off the system for the second time in veg with the following mix on 6/9/12: Starting >>> pH: 6.15 PPM: 228 4 gal of RO in ml/gal CalMag: 4 UC Roots: 2 CS Veg A: 5 CS Veg B: 5 pH: 5.7 PPM: 485 Ending >>> pH: 6.05 PPM: 250 I also picked up a cheap humidifier as the room's RH dropped to 40% a few days before the top-off. This is as good as things are gonna get until I can DIY a proper humidifier for the next round... Took 5 min to install the lower screen today... The White S1 #7 is straggling in the upper right bucket... ![]() Then I lowered the light a bit... ![]() Okay, here are a few shots taken today of the Roots Organic side on Day 29... Also trimmed some sucker shoots from the lower canopy... And finally raised the light to its highest point... ![]() ![]() D
