There's a secret to maintaining your ph in organics too, I think I've figured it out. I'm using ph neutral ferts made from alcohol, but with the addition of some worm castings(microbes) and peat moss(ph6) to your organic mix, you don't need to check the ph again. The worm castings by themselves take a while to change the ph of the mix when they are fed with organics - the peat speeds up the process. In this way I can achieve the same results with organics as chemical. Errrrr oh yah that doesn't have anything to do with DWC
On the other hand in the DWC, things are ripping right along. I lent my TDS meter to a friend so he could test his ferts levels, but I think in most people, they can detect the changes in the plant with their naked eye. It operates on the same principal of the hand held laser scanner that they use to detect plant health. If the colour of the plant changes, the laser picks up on the drop in chlorophyll production and alerts you. As long as you're not colour blind, the human eye should be able to pick out that change too.

How could this have happened? We started out like Romeo and Juliet, but instead it ended in tragedy. - Milhouse
