Default All Nug Run "AUTOBUDDER" Downer

Ok So ive done probably around 75-100 Runs now with room to spare.
I've gotten extremely used to my golden Sap.
Got same consistency every time. Sappy and Jolly rancher when cold.

Ive yielded from 1g-15g max in my experiences with Different wieght.

For this run i used 2 SSTB to yield 6.6 grams "budder"

SSTB-Pyrex-double plate purge

followed by more purging and what not to get desired clear product.

I just wanted to discuss This run and see what people have to say about it.

I prayed and sprayed like always, Then towards the end of the purge it got different on me. There was so much product on the pyrex this time I had to use my dabber to move it around to properly purge. ( i usually use one baster, yielding around 3g instead of 6.6)

I guess what i want to know is why did it budder up on me? this shit was like cookie dough before i could even scrape it up. and its like white/white grey. SMELLS SOOO DANK. But the taste could be more on point. I have to say ive been dunking fatass chunks because its so much fun

I don't mind having a new product, but I would like to know some reasons as to why it came out different.

My product always comes out super clear/golden/sappy/Prime

The only thing i changed in my tech was more wieght, did this effect the purge thus giving me a budder product?

And moving it around with my dabber. so 2 variables i guess.

nice 20%+ yield. can't complain

Ill toss in some photos later tonight.

purge time goes up exponentially with more oil.. take a small sample and run a flame over it.. if it melts to noRMAL looking oil i bet there is or was some tane or moisture left in it...

but could also be humidity when spraying or damp nugs.

Too high of a purge temperature, too low of a purge temperature, moisture either in dish, due to excessive humidity or from wet nugs.

You said you've done 75-100 sprays, but I would assume they are not all the same strain. Purge temperatures need to be adjusted for certain strains: notorious are any Purple strains (grand daddy purps, purple kush, purple urkel etc) and Blue strains (blueberry, blue satellite, blue dream). Most likely you had a strain with more/more volatile terpenes than normal, and too high of a purge temp.

Some other possibilities include: uneven heating of the oil. Usually the surface temperature of the oil in the pyrex is lower on the air side than the glass side. Unfortunately, it is the air side of the oil that really needs the heat so as to lower the surface tension enough to let butane escape. This is one of the main advantages of finishing of your purge in an oven, as the even heating prevents this type of budder. This is also the reason many people on tokecity use ambient heat from the tip of their torch's flame to pop bubbles that have risen to the surface.

Also, agitating the oil by "moving it around" with the dabber likely did not help.

Budder is the result of improperly made oil, there is no such thing as autobudder.

Disappointing...a couple of my runs also buddered recently and I'm around the same stage as u, bout 100 runs or so...anyways Ya the things DD mentions includes the two I was going to mention which is temp and essentially the whipping you did with the dabber...learn from the mistakes, more recently I'm back to that super sap! Good luck!

Good process for preventing problematic strains from buddering:

The initial purge temperature (ie getting the liquid butane to evaporate) needs to be lower than the sustained purge temperature.

I'll spray into a pyrex sitting in significantly cooler than normal water (slightly warmer than lukewarm), let the liquid tane evap off and bring it inside. I then replace the slightly warmer than lukewarm water with much warmer water (though still cooler than a regular strain/purge). It generally takes 2x as long to purge (hour and a half as opposed to 40 minutes) and requires slightly more torch tickling. '

and Montana: no, most (not all) of the time I spray any purple strain it ends up buddering (with the exception of purple kush, ive honed my tek with PK), either because I over heated or under purged. I feel like a vac would make this significantly easier.

THANKS for the solid responses i like to learn.

I have concluded that the extra 4 grams of oil Made my purge different by the extra oil on the pyrex. Causing it to budder up.

Also having to stir my oil while purging because of the extra oil...

I'm happy i'm 100 for 1 though Got 3 grams of my wonderfull OG sap today so im back on track

Feel free to keep discussing ideas/facts for readers and me.

Im still a newb with not even 20 runs under my belt so Im glad to hear you mention sour b/c Ive been having some fits batch I got right now

1st run, flavor was so BOMB ya got a rush of sour almost candy like flavor after exhale. Didnt pack as heavy a punch but some of the tastiest erl Ive had yet.

Next 2 runs though had almost no flavor at all and was alot runnier oil then Ive had before.
