Hey all,
I'm Pahlie, a non commercial hobby grower. I've been growing off and on since 97 Although I'm experienced I am not "skilled". I've decided to start a grow journal. I think it will help me improve as a grower
and give me a place to record observation or discuss theories and ideas that I have and to get suggestions for improvement. It will also give anyone trying to help with problems a bit of history of whats happened in the past. The strains I'm currently growing are Cinderalla99 f2, AK47F2,
White Widow F2, Sugar Berry from Joey Weed and Purple#1 from Dutch Passion here are their descriptions from Hemp Depot where
I purchased the seeds from and a couple of comments about my plans.
Cinderella99 F2
Indoor / Outdoor
These are seeds made from Brothers Grimm stock. One of the nice things about this line is it's quite true breeding. You will get 99.9% of what you get from the original. Cindy is a very easy variety to grow. You will never get a hermy even if you mistreat her. She is cooperative and will show you the gender in the preflowers even in the veg stage. Cindy is easy to clone and will root readily. I've successfully cloned her even from cuttings taken after two weeks of flowering. Cloning is the way to go and after you pick out your favorite female plant use the clone from her to be the clone mother. Another great thing about this variety is it's exceptionaly low odor. It has very little smell while it's growing and it smells kind of citrus like or a faint lemon lime scent. If you were worried about stinking up your house or apartment, this will help keep you safe. The high produceed is out of this world! I would call it a super up high, the type that makes you want to do things and laugh like a loon. It's spacey and very cerebral. If you want something that will impress your friends this is it.
Indoor flowering: 50 days.
I've grown this for two years now and am quite happy with it, but since I've recently started 3 new strains I will be keeping only one mother from the 5 original plants so I will be choosing her soon.
AK47 F2
Indoor / Outdoor
These were made from a pack of seeds I got from Serious Seeds in Holland a few years ago. Here are some things that were written about it:"An easy-growing good producer, this strains power earned it the name. More the idea of a "one hit wonder" than anything violent is intended by the name. "AK" has won many awards at the Cannabis Cup and other Cannabis festivals, 6 in total." "These plants have a short flowering period, producing hard compact buds which gleam with resin crystals making any farmer proud. Quality without compromise, this is some serious flowerpower." I would say that's right, it is an excellent plant to grow. It seems to have about equal amounts of indica and sativa with maybe slightly more sativa by looking at it. The high is really super and isn't anxiety producing at all. I've always gotten good harvests from this plant. Many people call it one hit weed. The last time I tested this batch of seeds I got 80% germ rate so you should get around that also.
Indoor flowering: 6-8 weeks
This is my favorite of the two strains I originally purchased. (c99 &ak47) but since I only had 2 original plants and it yields
lower than the cindy I don't get as much smoke from it I've narrowed these down to two and after last run I've decided to keep
just the one, to make more room for the new strains I've recently started.
The three new breeds
White Widow F2

at 15 days
White Widow This is the F2 made from seed stock I got from Green House in Holland in the late 90's shortly after it had won the cannabis cup. It has been a long time favorite of many growers. Some people have said that the WW sold by Green House today is not the same as what they offered years ago. Enough people demanded the original version that I decided to come out with this. Consider it WW from days gone by. White Widow is a cannabis cup winner that has won multiple times. It has incredibly frosty buds so covered with trichomes that it looks like it's got snow on it. The trichomes themselves have long stalks making the buds look furry. It's a good yielder and amazingly potent. I saw a report saying white widow was analyzed by a laboratory at 19.5% thc. It has been used to create Blue Widow, White Russian and other heavyweights which pays tribute to it's phenomenal qualities. Veg for 4 to 8 weeks and then flower for 8 to 10 weeks. It can grow tall so top it or bend it in veg to keep it short indoors. It like lots of light and medium ferts, heavier in late flower.
I've wanted to try this one for a while because of it's huge amounts of frost. 4 out of 4 germinated and are growing well, hopefully there is one male in the bunch so I can make some backup seeds, I still have 6 seeds left. The tall growth in veg is holding true
Sugar Berry

at day 15
This is a cross between the brothers Grimm Sugar Blossoms and Blueberry. This to be a super fruity berry tasting weed with a couchlock stone. The yield should be good because both parents are good yielders.
Here is what they say about sugar blossoms in the HS catalogue: Smokers of White Widow almost universally comment that they wish it tasted better. The Bros Grimm set out to solve this problem by creating Sugar Blossoms, a skunky, lemon-flavoured White Widow hybrid. Expect hardy, vigorous plants with an Indica-dominant growth profile. Short & branchy, Sugar Blossoms is a high yielding, fast flowering, resinous plant that produces dense, sugar-coated buds that has a great taste and a light lemon smell. This plant, like most Brothers Grimm offerings, is easy to work with, trims up very easily, and has a beautifully balanced high.
Medium in height, the buds tend to be hard and bunchy.
Indoor flowering usually 8 to 9 weeks.
I'm hoping this is going to be my bedtime smoke, I'm also looking forward to the "fruity taste and aroma" 4 out of 4 seeds germinated and are growing well.
Purple #1 (from Dutch Passion)

at about day 15 as I had to try a few times to get seeds to germinate
Indoor / Outdoor
A strong plant (50% Sativa, 50% Indica), easy to grow. Purple Afghan seeds have been crossed in Holland with Indica and Sativas since 1983. The plants are fully adapted to the Dutch climate and have a respectable yield. Calyxes turn purple starting at the beginning of flowering. Up to 90 % of the plants turn purple. Rough, but subtle aroma and a very good high.
Indoor flowering: 8 weeks
Outdoor Harvest: Last week of September to the first week of October at 50 N Latitude.
These seeds have not been my best so far, I've managed to get three to germinate out of 10 and out of those three, I had to crack the seed with finger pressure before a tap root showed. That is probably the explanation I have for the strange growth that I've seen from these
I purchased the seeds a novelty sort of thing just cause I wanted to have some purple buds and as a potential outdoor plant. The seeds looked small and immature so that could explain the low germ rate. Anyway I have three growing so I'll see what I can do.

weird growth on one

weird growth on another
I'm not sure how much time I'll have to dedicate to updates but hopefully I can get one a week even if it's just a brief one I'll post more on my setup and other details in the next few days.
