hmmm i guess it;s the C... I mixed some powder into OJ the First time I did mushies... but couldn;t mix in the powder well..
I think the mixing in the powder in lemon/lime juice and then soaking for 10 minutes probably breaks down the walls or somehow starts metabolizing the psilocybin for you... cause it doesn't just change the feeling of it... it just speeds it up! It kicks in really quick and the trip is stronger cause you come up and metabolize all the psilocybin really quick...
(I really need to do mushies again, after that year when I had the jar of mushroom powder and was doing lemon shots I took a break (understandably))

I always drink OJ after I take shrooms, makes the onset amazinggg, but it made my last trip extremely, almost uncomfortably intense, but it's no big problem, didn't lose my sanity, so I feel good.

i have tried this method before. it literally kicks in so fast the entire anticipation anxiety is eliminated.
I met a couple friends at a park and they ate their shrooms before i did so i put my crushed shrooms in a glass of lemon juice before i left to go meet them. the juice turned green and it was IMO pretty tough goin down, but before i even arrived at the park i was trippin HARD. i think it has something to do with the acidic lemon juice breaking down the psyllocibin so your stomach doesnt even have to, idk

^^Yeah that's my theory too herb n sound (about the acid breaking it down/metabolizing quickly into your bloodstream)

Turned green? Tasted bad? Eh that's too bad... mine always just looks like dark powder in the pulpy juice and tastes like strong sweet lemonade...

And yeah it kicks in really fast but that doesn't really help me relax into it LOL... once I started Shaking uncontrollably less than five minutes after taking the shot and I was scared I had taken way too much or something... but I ended up fine of course.
I kind of like the slow loosey goosey come-up of regularly eaten shrooms, or tea which I find even more mellow and slow of an effect... but lemon shots are for hardcore psychedelic voyages!

Yeah as long as it kills the dried mushroom taste...just thinking of the taste makes me want to puke.
