Yo AK, when someone says "a 1500 watt grow" they're usually referring only to light wattage. You're phrasing's been a little bit confusing, just wanted to clarify. |

if there is a sudden spike in your energy bill it will raise suspicion, even if you pay on time (they know what your up to). the trick is to make sure you have a high energy bill from the time you in. if your not moving, raise your bill by being wasteful (i hate to put so harshly, but thats what it is). then wait a month, stop wasting energy to raise your consumption and start growing. take the time during the wait period to get everything you need for your grow... seeds, lights, etc. i hope this has been helpful. |

You should be able to add 3k watts without raising any eyebrows, keep in mind how many people are on the grid and as long as you dont live in an apartment doing a 6k grow you will be fine. Lots of people use lots of power for all sorts of different reasons, I wouldnt worry to much about this. |

I have read in various places of people calling their power company and telling them they are going to be adding a welder or some other kind of heavy equipment and they will have an increase in power usage. Usually stating it as some sort of question asking if their current setup will accept the load so that it minimizes suspicion. Does anybody think this is a good idea? Or even having them install a sub-panel before hand? |
