Default The Guitar Building Thread by Spliff'o'matic

Hey guys,

I am relatively new to this forum. And after having looked through so many different threads on blowing-glass I am in awe at some of the people on here!

I myself work with a different sort of material. Wood

I am a luthier (guitar builder), I am working in Nova Scotia, Canada in the middle of no-where. The scenery is amazing, and the green aswel

I somewhat assumed that green and music go together, thus there must be some guitar players on here.

I have way too many pictures to just post them all, but here are some of the things that I have been working on recently.

Suck on that, Gibson indeed!
Those all look really nice, love the staggered single coil right up in the neck and humbucker on the last one. Wood finishes look amazing, might have to get a price check on one of those.

Nice!

While I'm not a luthier, I am an avid musician who loves to build things and it just so happens that I'm building a guitar right now. It's almost done too. Alder body, maple neck (through body), ebony fretboard, 25" scale length, kahler bridge with bareknuckle pickups. I did a custom designed shape.

It's awesome that someone else on here know their way around building a guitar

Thanks atrsklr! Just so you know, everything is hand-made on the guitars. No CNC or artificial carving by any means.

I dont believe I am allowed to mention prices, or maybe that is just in reference to glass. If a mod or someone could let me know about the rules, I would be greatful. Otherwise I would be more than glad to list some form of price guide for the custom or standard series guitars that I offer.

Nice!

Sounds like my old hanneman ESP Custom shop

I love Bareknuckle Pickups, I met Tim a few times and really love the work that he puts out! I am contemplating working out something with him to use his pickups in my guitars, but at present Bill Lawrence is going to be doing some custom pickups for my guitars.

I should have actually mentioned that none of those guitars are finished, the strat is still missing around 80% of its hardware. Besides the bridge, all the rest of the parts are just temporary. It is going to have gold hardware and custom gold hotrails by B.Lawrence.

The 27fretter with the slanted neck pickup is waiting in Canada with all the parts at its side. I am currently in London, England with the strat though...bloody parts came the day after I left for the holidays

Those are some sick guitars, very nice work. I always love to see artists work of a different medium. I think wood is a pretty tricky one to work with. I dabble a little in it but nothing like that. At least with glass if cut to much off you can melt some more on but with the wood not so easy. You have skills my friend, keep up the good work and thanks for the pics.
