Good call. What is the optimal distance between the pad and flare when building a curve with Ti pad? And do folks tend to prefer a flare with a notch in it? Or just a straight lip?

the optimal distance.... look at a kut curve

not much bigger than a fat dab.

also, I think curves with notches are weak sauce.. They're only needed if the wrap on the curve itself is much too close to get a dab in... thats why the notch in the glass is needed to get the dab on the pad.

imho if the distance is proper between the pad and the curve, nothing design wise needs to happen to the curve itself at all.

i think domes function really well as long as the nail is cupped like the Ti nails are instead of just dimpled. the dimpled nails aren't that great for bigger dabs.

fuck a notch in the bell. ive always thought it looked stupid. you just need enough room for however fat of a dab you wanna take. for example, the gap on my mini mammoth.. is HUUUGE lol. Though theres never any hassle stuffing a fat dab in there, theres no problem as long as you know what your doing. Though i have witnessed quite a few fail on it
