A recap. I asked HMK if he ever went through with his all glass design. I am making a curve set up with a quartz arm and a Ti plate. I do not currently smoke. I smoked for close to 2 decades daily. I have smoked oil through just about every type of rig out there. I do not like the way Ti plates with bike spokes look. I do think metal done right can look very nice. Aesthetics are very important to me in my products, that is why I am trying to find a way to make these curves with out any metal other than the Ti for my customer. That is also why I am having my Ti plates made by a machinist not just cutting them up all jaggedy and raw. I think I covered all the bases for those who insist on replying without reading the whole thread. Thank you for the info, those of you who have given me replies to my questions. Mt Ti is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, so I will be getting these made as soon as i can. I will post some pics as soon as they are out of the kiln and done. I was looking at some Worm rigs, someone asked if I was doing them that style, and I guess I am doing them similar. NOT the same at all, but similar. Thanks.

Am I actually the only one who thinks that a Ti pad one a glass or quartz arm would look stupid and dangerous? Regardless of how its anchored to the curve, I just cant see it looking good in any way. New and interesting maybe, but I have never found the spoke to be a problem. |

I wrote the tirade above so all the people who keep posting without bothering to read the thread would be able to read one post and get the gist of the situation. Sorry if you were offended. Have a good one. ![]()

Just because you've been doing something a long time doesn't give you the right to come in here on your high horse. If you want to do market research, perhaps you should start your own thread to do so.

That was not my intent. And out of respect to you I was just logging back on to open a thread about this topic. I did not realize what a tizzy folks would get into. To put it back on topic. I see you did reply, she made you one and you used it for a short while. Do you have any pics? I would love to see ggirls version of that idea! And once again, sorry I jacked the thread. My bad. |
