Yes I do this, and I know others do to. I can't see it being harmful, so long as you dont confuse blow for suck haha

So I used about a quater to 10gs in a stainless steel tube with the buds broken by hand. The liquid came out really fast. Does that mean I packed it too loose?

Hey guys/girls hows your day going?
Well anyways i am probably doing a run later today with my SS turkey baster.
This is my process....
1. pack herb in baster
2. cover with coffee filter
3. zip tie coffee filter
4. attach the stainless steel "tip" to the turkey baster
This is where the question comes in.... HOW DO I KEEP FROM LOOSING SO MUCH tane?

5. i find the best fitting tip (from the vector can adapters)
6. lastly i shoot the tane down the tube haha.

i heard one person suggest plumbers tape (when i attach the stainless steel tip)
I THINK the plumbers tape will solve it, but if anyone has any experience or suggestions on the matter, please chime in.

Forgo the baster tip, find the tane adapter that fits the little hole on the baster directly.

or break off the tip and just use the "screw cap" part. The red vector adapters dont fit too well into certain basters.

From my experiences. If you have a saw or dremmel you can trim the tip to a 90 deg angle. Then one of the vector tips fits absolutely perfect. Tightest cap to Baster seal I've ever seen. It feels like the out dia of the caps is smaller than most companies. Reason being, whenever I use vector caps directly to the baster I always have a leak. Put a king or other cheap brand tip and those things are huge and stop the area up makin a tight seal. My vector tips can be pushed thru there. Sooo I am off to get another vaster and am going to square off the tip. Then it'll be perfect

I pack my baster very tightly with a drumstick so I need a tight seal up there.

Not to tight though i have over packed to the point gas cant go through to easy. I would have to say that batch had absolutely no partials in it! But the back of my oiler filled with liquid tane

Edit:

Just to clarify this was with cured buds the pack is what caused it i think any herb is susceptible to this issue. I still revived a good yield and completed the shoot i just have to continue to see liquid build up it would drop the oil came out like amber goo i still was able to push the whole can of tane threw. The biggest worry was to see if the china joint on the extractor was going to hold and it did ;D
