Pick up your favourite piece dry, repeat with appropriate water level, notice which time it's heavier? when it hits the ground with that extra momentum there's a greater chance of it breaking (especially in pieces which hold more than your average amount of water, say, a hookah or any piece with multiple chambers...). If ya really want to go into detail we can discuss the physics of it: fluid dynamics - vibration through liquids and the effect on their (relatively speaking, fragile) containers, etc, but I think you get the point.

(next time if ya don't wanna get sassed, don't taze me bro)

anyways, I am curious as to just how much of a difference, exactly, that it makes since when my cat knocked my Toro over and the tree broke off, i had just filled it with water (so sad...) but I've seen a couple of other similar Toros hit the ground - dry - and survive.
It's not going to be affected though because of how the trees are reinforced, the whole tube broke when he threw it against the ground but both trees survived without a single scratch they look like big solid masses of glass almost haha

true. the reinforcements might be strong enough that even with the added weight/momentum of the water the total stress during impact is still below the tensile strength threshold of the piece, but whether or not this is true is not an indication either way that there is no affect, I repeat "water weighs more than air, therefor, there would be added weight, which is itself the difference/effect..."

all I did was suggest another experiment, which based on that fact that i'm sure most of us don't hit our tubes dry without reason, would provide us with more practical results. no harm in trying (except the broken glass and wet floor...). that's what experiments are for.

either way, this is getting ridiculous, buddhaprime, don't angry-PM me after you pretend to brush me off in the thread to look cool, that's lame and weak, super, super lame, and weak. if ya really care that much, buy one, drop it dry, then wet from the same height onto the same surface, and let us know how that works out for ya (hey wait, itsn't that all I was suggesting in the first place? lol). I guess trying to drag me down to your level and beat me with all that experience didn't pan out like ya planned huh? now that I've replied to your PM I'm dropping this. to argue with fools is to become one.

what we SHOULD be focused on is that Toros are now more resilient than ever before so enjoy that, be happy about it, pick one up, pack a snap, and TryJahLove

please keep the personal back and forth posts to pm. we don't care to read them and they do nothing but hijack good threads. thanks.

sure there is a difference with water, but we're talking a straight tube, not a beaker or even a bub. not much water at all. so maybe it would have broke at a height .5" lower than it did without water. besides, what are the two things (not including accessories) that people break the most of on their tubes? trees and joints. in this example neither broke. likely that you'll never need a repair because when they break the rest of the tube will be completely demolished as well.

sorry mang, got it covered. I was simply suggesting another experiment (knowing full well that there would be minimal difference). like I said, just curious as to whether or not the difference would be relevant. I'm gunna go with 'no' for a new Toro, and 'maybe' in anything else. Again I apologize for letting myself be dragged down to that level and muddling up an otherwise killer thread. tres lame...

Sick video!!! The new trees look sweet. You can bet i'll be trying to locate one very soon. Or win one...

Sad to see the Toro decimated, but I'm glad the video exists to show just how damn durable it is. I could not believe the impacts that thing was shrugging off.

All brands should put out testing videos like these so as a consumer we can have peace of mind knowing that our glass won't be wrecked quite so easily.
