Butane Manufacturer Preferrence

Been a Vectorhead since i started on oil, but paying 8+USD for a can Friday night is starting to make me think of other avenues

bic- i won't say what shop but the owner told me. maybe he's trying to avoid his shop being the spot to goto for concentrate stuff seing it's a "tobacco" shop. a very strict one, they don't carry anythig with leaves or cheech and chong on it... he said it was a DOT law. wasn't gonna argue...


but i also asked about buying cases and he said he cant even buy cases which is gotta be BS because last time i went there and asked for 3 he opened a fresh case of maybe 12? to give me my cans...

he also told me making BHO is manufactoring and schedule 1. kinda bugged me out but was just saying he was trying to explain to me it's rough around here as far as laws and stays safe/wants others/us to be safe.

i forget how we got talking about it but i think i waited until the shop died down and took a gamble dropping the C bomb (concentrate) and he being the only staff on shift was suprisingly cool about it. (we stopped our conversation as customers came in, and would resume when it was just us again)

i asked why he doesn't carry anything concentrate related, so he told me that the reason he doesn't is the loop hole in the law and he said that it's free basing so it cant really be justified to carry in a tobacco shop... he also said that using butane to alter the state of material is making a schedule 1 drug because you're manufacturing. so basically he was warning me about what could happen if i got caught doing what he knew i do... with me never having to admit i do anything....

the guy who said i can't get cases due to DOT was another worker at the shop. i basically walked in and asked him if there was any way to buy in bulk. he showed me the sign that i missed that was RIGHT next to the prices says 4 can limit. he begins to tell me that the DOT regulates civilian sales of butane since 9/11 yadda yadda yadda. i didnt wanna argue because who am i to argue? i don't own a shop and deal with BS laws...


edit: let's give me a little credit here... i didnt just walk into the local headshop ask to buy a case of tane cause i make BHO then ask why they don't carry errl utencils lol...

as gingerly as humanly possible i pussy footed around the words oil and concentrate until he said them lol

My newest preferred brand of butane is airgas.. food grade ntane in 100lb tanks ftmfw.. I like the fact I know exactly what I'm extracting with..... No more guessing what's inside it. No mirror test needed.
