I used it once and it had an off taste but I probably overpurged that batch. I'd stick with what works for others because it will likely also work for you. Is availability of good tane an issue?

my supplier just got 40 more cases (of 72 cans) of colibri, but then you see this too... i get the feeling the butane is a separate company from the lighter makers in the US.

Here's a comment from that link.....A former employee.

"What it is they are protesting is the that we were all fired in the middle of the night with out WARNing. No compensation, no advanced notice and the fact that our right have been violated. The banks will get their money (Sovereign and HSBC) but the 280 employees have not received a thing and probably wont.
This was a company founded over 80 years ago and withstood countless economic problems. what went on here was a private investment company coming in, changing the way the business was run, FAILED, got their money back and screwed almost 300 people and their families and countless other business's who did buisness with Colibri."

Another:

" People went to work to find a lousy note taped to the door not one of the higher ups had the grace to be there to talk to these people. They even left one of the employees stranded in Vegas doing a trade show she recieved a phone call from a friend. Nice of them don't you think. This could happen to you then let me know how you feel. "

Maybe the manufacture of the canisters is subcontracted, but the cans say colibri of london, which is an asset purchased by the us colibri group in 98.

Everything I have seen indicates that they would no longer be available, but who knows what the creditors have worked out with any subcontractors during the receivership. The one thing I do know is smokeshops say it is still available, but in limited amounts and won't be for long.

^ "Colibri Butane is no longer being produced and had become very hard to find but we have a limited quantity still available. Purchase in sets of 2, 6, or 12 so you will have butane to refill your Colibri brand lighter in the future. When we run out, it will be gone forever! "

If you take a look at the following link, you will see the president of the bankrupt colibri group being quoted on the keen marketing page about the colibri butane cans, confirming the link between keen and the now defunct trademark holder.

yes but i had informational exchange with the guys who make it, not just some website that sells it, and they said they would still be making. it. the only reliable source of information will be them and as no one else seems to have asked them and reported back on it since i suggested it i guess i will ask them a second time myself and see if their story has changed or not. meanwhile i am stocking up as i can afford it. up to about 100 cans or so

Man I have treated NEON like it's Ronson.

Vector has been my primary choice, mainly for the quality and value... 4.99 for a 320 ML large can. I have seen Colibri at a nearby cigar-store, but its about the size of a small ozium can and pricey.

Should I be investing more in to Colibri?

Most agree Vector is more pure than Colibri.

Just did some research on amazon and Colibri is only 3x refined... 6 small cans run 45.99.

But 6 cans of Blazer are 27.99, I have personally never had the chance to try Blazer's butane, anyone have any nice things to say for it?
