I had like 3/4" gap at the end of the tube between the herb and the filter. It was packed tightly though....

Also when I was finished and was cleaning things up I notices what looked like trichs still on some of the nugs. Once all the herb was removed the tube was sticky...shouldn't all that stickiness have been down in the Pyrex?

I wonder if I packed it too tight or didn't run enough tane through the tube? Hmmm

next time you spray, make sure you FILL that mofuckin baster with chronic.

also, even if you spray it a bajillion times you might still notice trichomes, this is because it is the insides of the trichomes (where thc/cannabinoids are) that are absorbed by the butane. I've also felt stickyness inside the baster despite over 20% yields, so I wouldn't necessarily say the stickyness means a poor run or that you didnt get everything, but it also isn't a sign of the opposite either.

A friend had some strain-unknown nugs. Very dense and tasty, very lemony scent. I figured I'd give my new glass extractor it's second run to see if it made fruity oil.

Method:
- Extractor Experts small-size glass tube
- 1 can Vector (I only used about 1/3 can)
- pyrex double-boiler
- hand-operated break pump for vac purge

I do a normal HMK-style purge and I use a thermometer to ensure my water starts at 130F during purge (normally I shoot for 150F but I remember HMK warning: the more citric-y the bud, the lower the temp)

Once the liquid is gone, come in to the stove where I keep the water between 130-150F for about 10min. I also keep the pyrex covered and open to pop bubbles with the torch once.

Then scrap onto the parchment, into the vac chamber but unfortunately my vac chamber's lid broke when I was only around 20lbs of pull so the vac was minimal....

So, quick improv, I heated the oven up to about 140F and thew it, parchment and all, for about 5 minutes (until it stopped bubbling).

Result is shown below. When I hold it up to the light I don't see any bubbles at all so I think it's relatively clean but I probably burnt it a bit.

How much material did you run? Nice color!

I did about 4g buds and it yielded around .6g and it was pretty solid. I could definitely handle it with my fingers but it wasn't hard/brittle.

So I've been trying to gather materials, and came upon this perfect glass tube that's in the shape of a turkey baster, with an 18mm ground glass joint on one end. But I would like some advice as to what the best set up with it would be.

So as you can see in the pics (sorry they suck, camera phone), I have the turkey baster type glass tube, and an 18mm roor bowl, as well as an 18mm open ended tube, both which fit perfectly in the turkey baster thing.

So my question is what would be the best set up with these materials? With the roor bowl in there, I have two very small holes on either end, so could I run it like that and not have to worry about a filter or screens? (butane going through the roor bowl side, coming out the turkey baster end)

Then I have the open ended tube, which i could put a screen and filter on, and have the butane coming in through the turkey baster end.

Also was considering I could do a run with just the turkey baster glass piece, with the butane coming through the small end, and screens on the open end.

please let me know what you guys think would be most efficient!

I say just use the turkey baster piece...Just jam the butane adapter into the skinny end and let the goodness flow from the other end. If anything less parts to blow off while spraying with just the baster.

True, didn't think about the pressure with the extra attachments. But i like that i can run more through it at once with them, would it be too much of a risk of a blow out, using them at all though?

And if i was to use them, which do you guys think would be the best set up?
