I'm also switching to a smaller extractor that's 3 inches long. Been using a 6 inch one. I only use a 117 micron ss screen and get no plant matter.

These SS screens from Okief are the best filters I have found!!

I have used single coffee filters, but I pack TIGHT always have fear of a blowout.

Also, When I use 2 coffee filters, I feel like the filters absorb more oil which I don't like....

I pack whole nuggs and nothing but oil gets through my ss filters, it doesn't absorb any of my end product, and I have no fear of a blow out whatsoever!

I had trouble getting a tight clamp without folds in the screen when using metal screens.

Most the time i cut out a quarter size circle with scissors then drop it inside to cover the hole of my gong extractor

Here is how my screens usually look cut, folded, and tightened up.

Edit: Damn, I didn't realize this was my 420 post till now... Always thought I'd do something special for that, haha. Oh well.

dan k ive been having a hell of a time trying to find fine a stainless steel screen like that where you find one?

Menace, you can get them on ebay. Just type in "kief screen" into the search box. All different micron sizes. I got a 117 micron 4"x6" for ~$6.
