Epsoma definitely makes some good "ready to grow" bagged soil. Nice snag, but nothing beats mixing your own soil!

I suppose I shoulda said somethin' bout it not really bein a ready-to-grow soil.. or at least i wouldn't use it straight, been cuttin' it with Jiffy seed/cutting mix. Never really thought about it, pretty much just seen 'organic' in the thread title so I jumped in |

Lately I have been using a mix recommended to me by a good friend. 50% Sphagnum Peat Moss 25% Localy sourced EWC 25% Rice Hulls This is the cheapest soil mix I have ever put together but it is by far my favorite. Supplement with a few dry amendments and a few botanical teas and you are good to go! ![]()

I must say this stuff is very inconsistent from bag to bag, Some of it has tons of tree bark and woody material and some bags are mostly peat based depending on which batch your bag came from. I have found some crazy stuff in a bag of roots organic including a metal tine about 4 inches long that had broken off of a rake or some similar tool. I would recommend Fox Farms ocean forest as an all around organic potting mix that is easy to grow in and very forgiving when it comes to nutrients. Another slightly cheaper alternative is happy frog. Very similar mix to Ocean forest, but slightly more affordable. |

Ya man fox farms ocean forest and gardner & bloome is a good organic soil for half the price as fox farms. These two kinds are both way better then roots organic imho. |
