First off, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I figured glassblowers would be more interested in this than the general population. |

You should put arrows on it to show the flow of the smoke.. looks pretty crazy. Im stoked that you are sharing your ideas! |

Might be a little too relaxed for doing arrows right now but here's my attempt. |

yeah im not seeing the purpose of the first chamber with the perc in it though seems like it would work the same with just the splash guard |

Without the first chamber though, it wouldn't cycle the water. |

I think securing the inner chamber might be difficult. It would have to be hanging above the base so there couldn't really be any reinforcement except for attaching it to a side wall and the stemline you drew. Cool idea, maybe see if contrabasso, hamm, or sandsmith would try it out. Those are the first shapers that jump to mind who could handle a task like this. |

Looks like it just might work, makes much more sense with the flow diagram as the initial pic didn't show the intake for the upper chamber. |

That's the problem I ran into when thinking about how a blower would be able to make the part that would attach to the stemline.... then put that into a tube. If anyone wants to make this just to see, go for it, I just want to know if it works or not, but I would love to see it work! |

I'm interested in the physics of it, the only big problem I see is that it doesn't really add anything of interest to the tube other then aesthetically, and will kinda look like a bubble fountain lol... That is if it bubbles enough. A splash guard works just as well and doesn't take a master glassblower to make. Interesting idea, but the concept of freestanding concentric cylinders inside a tube is not a easy feat to control when trying to well the glass together, rotating, compensating for gravity, etc. |

, and it's not making any sense. Can you explain a little more clearly? And thanks, I'll try and think one up in the next couple of days and add it to this post. ![]() |
