Now my concern with those type pumps is heat, dunno what the rating is on that one but mine was 60L/min and blew hot air, and was quickly replaced.

Bob,
if you don't already have one, get an extra bucket so you have somewhere to put your plant while you clean / change your rez bucket.

regarding pH up / down, if your tap water is anything near mine (7.0-7.5) you'll only need pH down, you can just add more water to raise the pH.

I aslo recommend using aquashield from botanicare or something similar instead of H2O2 in your regular nute solution. i only use the peroxide when i do a rez change, i fill my second container with tap water and some peroxide and let the plant soak while i clean the rez bucket (also with H2O2)

This one sez it's 38L/min...18 watts. I'll test it when I git it hooked up, and I'll monitor it fer a while til I know it's ok.

I got plenty of buckits...I'll be usin two so that when I do a res change, I kin simply move the plant from the old to the new.

Not gonna use any peroxide in the mix to start out. If there's an algae problem, I'll git the H2O2 from Nutrilife...to go with their nutes.

to eliminate algae, make sure you have totally blocked the light. Also, nutrient and light don't mix.

K...first thing I did wuz hook everything up....cuz ya know readin instructions, only comes after failure.

First I cut four 6" pieces of tubing, then I cut the remainin 9' or so in half. The long pieces were slipped onto the airstone nipples, and then the tube wuz fed thru the netpot (I din't wanna hafta drill any holes). I then took the air manifold supplied with the pump, put the four 6" pieces of tubing on the four nipples, and attached them with two "T"s to the two air stone lines, like so...

...and then connected the air manifold to the pump.

I grabbed an old buckit & scrubbed it clean. Next I had to light-proof it, so I grabbed an old piece of duct insulation, scraped the insulation off the foil facing, and wrapped the buckit with the foil, usin some metal tape to affix it to the buckit...

Took a lil bit of time, but it worked out well. I put 3 gallons of water in the buckit (looked like it should just touch the bottom of the net pot), and let it air out a lil.

Got out the GH test kit and pH'd the water...aboot 7.0

Calibrated the Hanna tester and TDS'd the water...369, pretty high fer jus water eh?

Then, according to Nutrilife's recommendation, I added 15ml of Micro, and then 15ml of Grow.

TDS'd the water agin...684

pH'd the water agin...aboot 6.5...crap.

Went down to the kitchen & grabbed the distilled white vinegar. Poured a lil bit in. pH'd the water agin...aboot 6.0...close enough.

Now she's cookin...

Then I picked out a clone...

...there are 5 more in the cloner in case this one expires. I will not plant them, til I git one to take in the buckit.

I tried to locate the peat pellet in the center of the net pot best I could, surrounded by Hydroton. Grabbed a make-shift stand to put the pump on. I woulda put it on the floor iffin my buddy had check valves, but he din't, and the manufacturer recommends placin the pump above the buckit to prevent the possibility of water gittin in it, if ya ain't got check valves. Turns out I kin hear the fukker runnin downstairs...looks like I'll hafta bungie somethin up.

And so it begins...

...sad lookin lil fukker.

hey bob, like the set up!! looks like your well on your way!! one thing your gonna have to keep your eyes on is food temp, with all four air lines runnin to the same bucket, you may find the restrictions, cause the pump to heat up, and in turn it may heat the food supply, if this becomes a problem, you may have to open one port, to atmosphere, so the extra air flow can help cool the pump, that pump is plenty big enough to support that bucket, and be able to vent, for cooling.

Well the bigger leaves are still layin down, and are a bit crispy (I imagine due to bein outta the humidity of the cloner)....but the top, which wuz limp last nite when I wuz done, is now fully erect & rigid this mornin.

Pump wuz a lil warm, but nowhere near too hot to touch. Airlines felt fine, no heat detected. I don't foresee the pump bein a problem til the end of my season. The only heat the area gits is usually jus from the lights. Right now I got other veg plants that are a bit limp cuz itsa bit chilly up there. But for me, for most of the season, heat is a good thing.
