No not normal for the end of flowering, the root matt should be healthy.
At the end my roots dont die until the plants are cut.
I like to keep things clean and use the materials which let me do so.
Root rot on page 2 seems to be in advanced stages, not normal.

alright man if you would look at my fucking setup you would see that I was using lava rocks which I have never been able to get all the way clean so it stains the roots and on top of it the PBP I use plus the bloom booster stained the roots...my roots where perfectly healthy as yo can see from the yield I got. So why don't you go fucking troll somewhere else. and when I took that pic the root matt had been sitting there for a couple of days

in the pics on page 1, what are the squares the plants are in?

and did you just jam a seed into those squares?

Them are R/W cubes[rockwool] the plants are in.

and did you just jam a seed into those squares?
yea pretty much all ya have to do is poke a hole and drop the seeds in.

ok, so it's rock wool on top of the egg crates, which have lava rocks under them, is that correct?

and trip said you could use hydroton instead of lava rocks, cost and mess are factors in this decision?

would you just put the lava rocks or hydroton half way full on the tray?

*big time growing noob, so any tips would be great

what I did was put the RW cubes directly on the egg crate then surrounded them with the lava rocks
