    From the top:

Let's keep calling, visiting and writing our legislators. Tell everyone in Wisconsin you know, or anyone who knows someone from Wisconsin. The bottom line is this: If you and two people you know call and tell two people they know in Wisconsin, this bill will get passed so fast!

A report on Saturday's event in WI Rapids:

Link to full article with links, video and pictures.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS: February 2010 closed with a week of medical cannabis events. Following Monday at UW-Waukesha and in Madison for a NORML meeting, Wednesday at the State Capitol in Madison for the Lobby Day, supporters of AB554/SB368 were at the McMillan Public Library in Wisconsin Rapids for the T.H.C. Tour: Talking Hemp and Cannabis. The Tour is a continuation of the T.H.C. Expo held in Berlin on February 6 that featured Mieko Hester Perez and Jacki Rickert, along with other activists.

    UPCOMING EVENTS:

March 13, 2010: THC Tour heads to Appleton, WI (Tentative)
March 19, 2010: Benefit for Josh Driscoll (http://www.wkowtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12044244) and NORML at Labor Temple in Madison, WI
March 31, 2010: Marijuana decriminalization forum in Whitewater (w/THC Tour)
April 3, 2010: http://bit.ly/cXfT4I Wisconsin NORML benefit in Milwaukee

Also, there is an auction coming up for this pipe donated by FREEEK - soon as I have the details on how we will go about that, I will let you know:

UPDATE FROM IS MY MEDICINE LEGAL YET:

    Tuesday, March 02, 2010

IMMLY Announce Bulletin: Act now to help pass Jacki Rickert MMJ Act

AB554/SB368, the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act remains in
committee as sponsors attempt to assemble the votes to pass the bill. At
the current time, while many Democratic Assembly representatives and
Senators are ready to vote for the JRMMA, the problem is, so far, no
Republican members have formally said they would vote for the bill.

As Democratic majorities in both houses are slim, the JRMMA needs
supporters of both parties to pass the Legislature this session. We need
to get the word out that the JRMMA is about compassion and that
Wisconsinites deserve the same freedom to legally access medical
cannabis as Americans in the 14 states that now allow this option.

As of today, we have 51 days until April 22, 2010, at which point the
JRMMA's chance of passage will likely expire.

We need to act with urgency now:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple of people who were a part of Operation Floodgates (anyone can show up to the Capitol any day of the week and we will have people representing the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act) met with Rep. Honadel today. All participants are volunteers.

He stated he was "very impressed" so far, but he was not ready to support JRMMA, "just yet". He reps South Milwaukee area, including Oak Creek, and needs some support from the republican constituents of the district.

Need advice on what to say or how to approach? The guys who talked to him are Dan and Tom

    Please be civil.

Rep. Keith Ripp (map: http://www.legis.state.wi.us/ltsb/re.../Maps/ad47.pdf) not only said that as of today, he would not vote for the bill, but he shrugged his shoulders when a veteran asked him if he wanted him to be arrested for his medicine!

Event with Keith Ripp on Friday:

    "Just Do Something"

    http://bit.ly/bk6o1d

The sponsors of the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act, Rep. Mark Pocan and Sen. Jon Erpenbach, showed support for veterans by including post-traumatic stress disorder in the bill. While PTSD affects people from all walks of life, multiple deployments and two major wars have meant millions of vets have this affliction in varying degrees.

I visited the Capitol with a 26-year-old ex-Marine who served three tours in Iraq and now feels like he’s gone from “hero to zero.” The medications the VA provides treat his symptoms but leave him feeling empty and sedated. Worse, users risk side effects including organ damage, cancer and tremors.

We owe our veterans medical cannabis as a legal option alongside their conventional medicines. We cannot tell a generation of young vets that medications that will harm them are their only option, and that a life on toxic medications is a quality one.

The medical marijuana act is good for Wisconsin. Special interests that profit from keeping it from vets, seniors, the sick, disabled and dying cannot be allowed to kill it for the ninth consecutive legislative session. Please call your legislators at 1-800-362-9472.
