Julie Lassa seems to be on our side, planning to vote the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act out of committee and on the floor vote. Please call, visit or write her to confirm in writing or voice, and thank her.

Still need people to call Tim Carpenter and ask him to pass the bill with no amendment. Alberta Darling still needs those calls - just say she will lose your vote if she doesn't vote for the JRMMA.

All Wisconsin residents should be contacting their legislators. Confirm they will vote for the bill, and thank them when they do. If they say no, ask them why. They must have read enough of the bill - there is only until April 22nd to get this passed.

    ------------------
As a follow up to 03-10-2010, 05:10 PM

Ripp was put on the spot about medical marijuana repeatedly by a veteran with PTSD. Unsure of the other turn out, did anyone here make it?

If you are a constituent or know anyone in the Lodi/Marshall,WI areas or other areas in Ripps district (see map at the original message) please have them visit, call or write.
    ------------------
All Wisconsin residents should be letting their legislators know that if they don't support it, they will be voted out. Also, they should spread the word around their neighborhoods, towns, villages, counties, and districts that this bill exists. Go to the Madison NORML Print Your Own center and leave some fliers or pamphlets around.

Anyone who knows anyone in Wisconsin should tell them about this bill.

Make a 5 minute call to your legislator over the weekend. You don't have to talk to anyone, leave a message.

    Who are my legislators?

    Just do something.

The final non-emergency work period of the 2009-'10 legislative session set for April 13-22.

Crunch-time lists are quietly being compiled by Assembly and Senate leaders

Make sure that the Medical Marijuana Bill is on those lists.

See below for a letter from Gary Storck, President of Wisconsin NORML
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Sunday, March 14, 2010

As the days click down to the end of the 2009-2010 legislative session,
only 38 remaining as of this writing, your help is very much needed to
pass AB554/SB368, the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act.

IMMLY Founder Jacki Rickert, namesake of the JRMMA, is fond of saying,
"Just Do Something" each and every day to help medical cannabis patients
    obtain their medicine legally.

Below is a list of actions you can do to help:

-Print out flyers and support letters and hand out in your home town:
    http://www.madisonnorml.org/PYOcenter.html
-Ask 5 friends to call their rep and senator: Call your Legislators:
    Toll-free Legislative Hotline: 1-800-362-9472
-Get 5 friends to write their legislators:
    http://www.legis.wisconsin.gov/w3asp/waml/waml.aspx
-Write a letter to the Editor,:
    http://www.mapinc.org/resource/how2lte.htm
-Print some "Day of Prayer for Compassion" fliers and leave them at
local churches or hand out after a service. Flier link:
    http://www.madisonnorml.org/PYOcenter.html, page link:
    http://www.immly.org/prayer2010.htm
-If you receive new word that a legislator now says they will vote for
the bill please let us know: immly@immly.org
    -Make a donation: PayPal link on IMMLY.org, JRMMA.org, WINORML.org,

Narin and Jay Selthofner are trying to attend an event http://www.uf4a.org/id22.html in California with Mieko Hester Perez and her foundation, ABC 20/20, TMZ and celebrities, etc. The event is this Saturday 3-20 and the Selthofners have made all the arrangements but need help funding a portion of the airfare. Jay will represent Wisconsin / Madison NORML, although Narin is a member of several organizations, she will represent Wisconsin as a member of NORML Women's Alliance during this historic event.

This is a unique networking and press opportunity to make awareness of the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act (Senate Bill 368 / Assembly Bill 554) and the status of medical marijuana legislation in Wisconsin. Jay has several connections in California that have donated small amounts to bring him to this event. Several state and national organizations are working hard with the Selthofners to bring Mieko and "surprises" back to Wisconsin to help legislators find the logic and compassion to pass the JRMMA. Mieko and The Unconventional Foundation for Autism have the scientific proof that marijuana saved her son Joey from death (ww.uf4a.org) that cannot be denied.

The kind folks in California have arranged for accommodations and transportation to and from the event as well as miscellaneous expenses along the way. The challenge for the Selthofners and NORML is only now a logistic one, as just a few miles and dollars separate Wisconsin from California.

Narin, Jay and Wisconsin / Madison NORML ask for your help with this special project. We are not allowing any one person to cover the cost, any donation from $1 to $100 will be accepted. You may contact Jay directly at 920-410-2920 for additional questions or to make a donation. Please visit www.winorml.org to make a donation via pay pal (please note on the donation "TRIP").

Statewide Day of Prayer for Compassion
    12pm-1pm: Prayer for Compassion Ceremony
    Wisconsin State Capitol
State St. Steps landing outside Capitol
Informational tabling, first floor rotunda, 1-3pm

Madison: When a friend or loved one is fighting illness, we pray for
them. The collective consciousness of prayer can be a unifying and
healing force for those struggling with a medical condition and the
    people who care about them.

Just as prayer can be a therapy in healing and dealing with chronic
illness, so can medical cannabis. At the 8 hours plus Dec. 15 combined
Health Committee Hearings at the Capitol for AN445/SB368 the Jacki
Rickert Medical Marijuana Act, many patients testified how both cannabis
and their faith got them through their personal ordeals.

With the JRMMA now needing the support of a majority of state
legislators to become reality, it seems appropriate to call a Statewide
Day of Prayer for Compassion and ask state residents, who are far ahead
of their elected representatives in supporting the JRMMA, to pray for
    passage of this bill.

This day is for whatever way you pray, meditate, seek guidance whatever.
It is non denominational and interdenominational. You just need to focus
your thoughts on compassion and the legislature listening to people's
    need for medical cannabis.

Medical cannabis is not a new idea in Wisconsin. It has been languishing
the legislature for decades. The sick and dying, seniors, disabled and
now veterans in shocking numbers, need this medicine. No medical
marijuana bill has progressed as far as the JRMMA, and we cannot let
this historic moment to pass without passing it and protecting some of
    our most vulnerable citizens.

Please join us in for the Statewide Day of Prayer for Compassion, all
day on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 and at the Capitol from 12-1pm for the
ceremony and 1-3pm for our tables and exhibits. The Prayer for
Compassion Ceremony from 12-1 will include speakers including state and
local clergy, medical cannabis patient/advocates and others.
